St Modan's RC High School is an S1-S6 Catholic High School in Stirling, Scotland. The school roll currently stands at 917 pupils.〔http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/0042/00420794.xlsx〕 Pupils travel from the Denny, Banknock, Alloa, Tullibody, Sauchie, Alva, Raploch, Cowie, Bannockburn, Braehead, Riverside, Dunblane and Blanefield areas. In 2008 St. Modan's High School moved to a new site as part of Stirling Councils £10 million Public Private Partnership regeneration of schools. The new site was originally planned for a field adjacent to Bannockburn High School however due to Historic Scotland objections the new site was announced as being in Springkerse Retail Park in Stirling directly opposite the Travelodge Hotel. This effectively meant that all children now have to be "bussed" to the new school. The school is also next door to Forthbank Stadium home of Scottish Football League Second Division side Stirling Albion which gives the school access to new sporting activities for pupils. In its 2009 inspection report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) St Modan's was shown to be an exceptional school and was awarded an 'Excellent' rating (Sector leading)for both the Curriculum and Meeting Learner's Needs and Very Good ratings for all other aspects of delivery. It states here "In almost all key measures of attainment, results are consistently better than they are in schools which serve young people with similar needs and backgrounds." and also "Young people’s behaviour is exemplary and they show care and concern for each other" ==History== September 1933, St Modans High School was officially opened by Archbishop McDonald of St Andrew's and Edinburgh. It was located in Barnsdale Road, St Ninians, Stirling. It was one of the first catholic schools to be built in Scotland. When it first opened, it incorporated 410 pupils and grew to its maximum potential of 1200 pupils when the school leaving age was raised to 16 in 1972. Now the school serves pupils from three local authorities: Clackmannan, Falkirk and Stirling. The total number of pupils has settled between 850 and 900 in recent years "which is an ideal size as it is big enough to provide a wide range of courses but small enough to enable good relationships to be established". The school moved to its present site in Royal Stuart Way, Forthbank, Stirling in August 2008, exactly 75 years after the first building was opened. The new building has opened up possibilities for pupils to show their creative sides as well as allowing them to study in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. With the move to the new premises, St Modan's High School was also able to enlarge its capabilities when catering for children with learning difficulties and various disabilities and incorporating every child into every day life. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「St Modan's High School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
